Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2026. Plain language, because that's the point.
The short version
BoardFlight has no accounts. We don't ask for your name, email, or phone number. We don't use tracking or advertising cookies, and we don't sell data. The only thing we store is what you tell us about how security actually went — so the estimate gets better for the next traveler.
What we collect
When you look up a flight, we query flight schedule data for that flight number to build your estimate. When you choose to report how your security wait went, we store: the airport, the weekday and hour you were in line, your security lane type, and your report (faster / about right / slower, or the exact minutes if you enter them). We also store a random identifier your browser generates the first time you submit a report.
About that random identifier
It's a random string created and kept in your own browser's storage — not linked to your name, email, or any account, because there are none. We use it only to prevent abuse (for example, one person flooding an airport with fake reports). You can clear it any time by clearing your browser's site data; a new random one is created if you report again.
What we do NOT collect
No names, emails, phone numbers, or accounts. No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. No location tracking. No selling or sharing of personal data with advertisers.
Usage analytics
We use anonymous, cookieless usage analytics (Vercel Analytics) to see which pages and flight lookups get used, so we know what to improve. It doesn't use cookies or track you across other sites, and it isn't tied to your identity.
How your reports are used
Reports are aggregated to improve the accuracy of security-wait estimates by airport, weekday, and hour. The improvement everyone sees is statistical — built from many reports combined, not from any single identifiable person.
Service providers
We use standard infrastructure to run the site: a hosting provider, a database provider, and a flight-data provider. They process data only to make BoardFlight work, not for their own marketing.
Data retention
Report data is kept to power the model and is periodically pruned on a rolling window. Because reports aren't tied to your identity, they can't be traced back to you individually.
